Dirk Hoffman was the first TV series in which a part was specifically written for a coloured actor, namely that of Dirk's clerk.

Drama series set in Grundlingshoop, a platinum mining town full of intrigue, scheming, envy and even star-crossed romance. The story follows the feuding Grundling and Wessels families. The Grundling family is led by Arnold Grundling, who owns the Grundlingshoop Platinum Mine as well as a whole lot of other businesses in town. After his wife's death, he married the sophisticated Elizabeth, but the townsfolk still struggles to accept her and her trouble-maker son Quintin. Arnold has three children: John, his right-hand-man Martin and the spoilt Judy.

Puppet series about the Pikkewouters and their quest to find the land where there are no pesky Slakkelange. The location of this far-off land is a secret and can only be solved if you have all three parts of the riddles. The guardians of the riddles are the Koggeljaan, the Spinnelak and the Krokkenoster, and the Pikkewouters set off to visit these three creatures. The adventures of Pikketoos and Pokkelwyn were continued in a sequel called Avonture in Amper-Stamperland (1985).

When Linda Eloff's mother is murdered, she leaves her native South-West Africa (Namibia) to stay with her cousin in Johannesburg. She is filled with rage and thoughts of revenge, until she meets and falls in love with Jakkie, a friend of her cousin Wilmie. But, once again, tragedy strikes: Linda discovers that she suffers from an incurable disease. To top it all, Linda gets a visit from an old suitor from back home, the rich and cocky Willem.

He has disinherited his daughter Erna, who married against his will, and his son is addicted to drugs. Other characters are dishonest attorney Dolf Roodt and Bert's rich friend, Adele Vorster.

Mini-series about the gentle-hearted Neelsie and his endless trouble with his stubborn and incompetent fellow man. "Sagmoedige Neelsie" was an alter ego of C.J. Langenhoven, and the series was based on the fantasies and stories of this famous Afrikaans author.

Youth series. A teenage girl and her family struggle to adjust after she is blinded in an accident. During a school concert, a piece of the set falls on Tonia Visser. She is left blind, but refuses to go to a school for blind students and insist on carrying on with her life as before. Her decision has major consequences for her family - father, twin sister Berna, little brother Ferdie and housekeeper Mirrie - as well as her friends and teachers at school.

Adaption of F.A. Venter's award-winning novel about a family who joins the Great Trek into South Africa's interior. At the time, the series was one of the biggest and most expensive TV productions the SABC had embarked on and was desribed as "Afrikaans Television's first super series". The story begins during the Sixth Border War in 1834, and follows the Dreyer family of Grensplaas, the clashes between their community and the local Xhosas and the family's decision to leave their farm and join the trek into the South African interior.

Drama series about a poor family's struggle to survive amid the political and social turmoil of the Second World War. The Watermeyer family live on the farm Leeufontein: mother Henna, her two sons Wim and Janneman and her daughter Pattie, whose husband Hendrik is off at war and has left her alone with their 5-year-old daughter. The Watermeyers are Nationalists, in contrast with Con le Roux, their rich, Smuts-supporting neighbour. Le Roux has managed to exploit others' war-time poverty for his own enrichment and has now set his sights on the Watermeyers' farm.

Action-packed children's series. Secret agent cat Ferdinand van Oranje receives his missions from a voice over his pocket radio. Though we never see his mysterious boss, we can rest assured that he will be there when Ferdie needs help. Ferdie's nemesis is Meesterbrein, who is just as mysterious as Ferdie's boss: all we ever see of the fiend are his two hands. He leaves the real dirty work to his two sidekicks, Rotbeen and Skiergesig, who never miss a chance to make life difficult for Ferdie and his clever assistant, Katinka.

Grandpa Frans is a dreamer with a heart of gold and a great love for his country. In the drought of the 1930s he lost the beautiful family farm. Grandma Nellie is practical, hard-working and keeps her husband and his big schemes grounded.

He is on a secret mission from the South African security police to infiltrate and destroy an underground political organisation. The organisation is headed by Victor Melck, who uses innocent people, such as the talented Heidi Greyling, to manipulate the students.

Her dreams are about to become true: once she and her big love Braam get married, they will leave the town of Kromburg and settle in London, where Braam will continue his studies.

Three of the staff members, Vollie, Boeta and Braam, are university students spending their December holidays on the train. During their voyages across the Karoo, their lives become entangled with those of the passengers - from beauties and fortune tellers to thieves and diamond smugglers.
