Youth series. A teenage girl and her family struggle to adjust after she is blinded in an accident. During a school concert, a piece of the set falls on Tonia Visser. She is left blind, but refuses to go to a school for blind students and insist on carrying on with her life as before. Her decision has major consequences for her family - father, twin sister Berna, little brother Ferdie and housekeeper Mirrie - as well as her friends and teachers at school.

The lives of the Visser family are changed forever after an accident at a school concert.

Tonia and Berna struggle to adjust to their new circumstances. Dr. Perry recommends that Tonia go to a school for blind students in Worcester, but Tonia refuses to be separated from her family.

Tonia makes a new friend, Paul, who is also blind. He helps her adjust to her new life. Meanwhile, the school teachers have to decide whether Tonia can return to school.

Tonia is recovering very well and soon she's ready to return home. Ferdie and Berna are a bit uncertain about the big changes that Tonia's blindness will bring. Mirrie is very upset.
