Drama series following the dreams and struggles of six residents of the fourth floor of Queens Court, an old apartment building in Hillbrow. Seepsteenbataljon was the first Afrikaans television serial and was an adaptation of a radio serial by Kobus Louw.

We meet the fourth floor residents of Queen’s Court: tant Sella, the “mother” of the fourth floor who always tries to maintain the peace and love; oom Roelfie, the caretaker and a Second World War veteran, who is busy carving a battalion from bars of soap; Bart Steenkamp, the shy and inexperienced new-comer who has left the Free State to find his fortune in Johannesburg; Bart’s neighbour Snoekie, a shop assistant who wants to become a flight attendant, but is still struggling to pass her Standard 9; Willem, who loves his sports motor and is quite the ladies’ man; and Sue, a struggling actress with a drug addiction.

Tant Sella tries her hand at matchmaking and arranges a dinner for Bart and Snoekie. Willem tries to get closer to Sue.
