Pieriewieriepark

Education series in which Pieriewierie and his friends teach children about all sorts of things, from road rules to fruit and vegetables. Pieriewierie lives in a magic tree in Pieriewieriepark and gets regular visits from Parkie, the park caretaker; Sonja the vegetable seller; Mr. Postman; and the children. There's also Bravo Brak and Crescendo Kat, the glamourous cabaret pair who sing beautiful songs about all sorts of interesting topics.

Episode 1

We meet Parkie, the caretaker of Pieriewieriepark; Sonja the vegetable seller; and Pieriewierie, the strange man with the big glasses who lives in a tree. There's a new traffic light just outside the park, and Pieriewierie explains how to properly cross a road. Parkie demonstrates, but then he makes a mistake by running across the road - and he falls! We also meet Bravo Brak and Crescendo Kat, the dog and cat cabaret pair. They sing a song about traffic lights. Pieriewierie takes the children to his Wonderboom - his magical tree - where he shows them something on his new computer.

Pieriewierie teaches the children about sorting object. They start by sorting fruit and vegetables, but also learn about matching pairs of shoes and the letters in the postman's bag. Bravo Brak and Crescendo Kat sing a song, and Sonja and Parkie decide to hold a concert.

Episode 3
Original air date: 12 August 1986

Pieriewierie and Parkie are collecting seeds in the park. Sonja arrives with her fruit cart and they decide to see what the seeds of fruit look like. Pieriewierie explains that there are edible seeds, but also seeds that you have to remove before you can eat the fruit or vegetable. Pieriewierie invites them to his Wonderboom to show how you can grow a little plant from a seed. Sonja makes fruit salad and Bravo Brak and Crescendo Kat sing a song about fruit salad.

Today we learn about sounds. There are sounds we can recognise by their pitch, for example the high voice of a woman versus a man's low voice. We can also make other sounds by sneezing, laughing, crying, coughing and even imitating animals. Postman brings Pieriewierie a present from his uncle Porrieworrie. It's a metallophone, a kind of musical instrument. Bravo and Crescendo sing a song.

The children discovers all sorts of round things: balloons, balls, fruit, buttons. Postman brings a parcel with a glob in it, and Pieriewierie points out different countries on it to the children. He explains the difference between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and demonstrates how the earth revolves around the sun. In his Wonderboom, he teaches children more about the moon.
